I would like to wish you all a happy and healthy New Year. Secondly, a big thank you to all of my subscribers, especially those who contribute financially. You have made much of the work I do for this channel possible. Without the financial freedom to detach myself from articles for other outlets, I would not be able to do half of the work I do here. Thank you for your generous support.
Over the coming year I will be concentrating on particular areas. There will continue to be the one-off reviews, but fewer of them. Of course, there will still be pieces on dissident art and alternative routes for expression outside of mainstream culture but only if I feel my writing contributes significantly to advancing the discussion. There will be fewer cross-posts with my Wordpress site, which will be the main home for one-off reviews, especially of books. If you haven’t already visited, it is at www.alexanderadamsart.wordpress.com
There will be a new series on personal heroes, starting in the first week of the new year with a discussion of an illustrator many of you will be unfamiliar with. These figures will be ones who I might not devote a whole review to, or would find difficult to fit into my regular articles. This series may include actors, film makers, authors and other creative individuals. There will be more articles on aesthetics and the Decadent and Symbolist movements, assessing the quality and impact of the art, verse and fiction and examining the ideas behind them. There will be further pieces on outsider art and little-known artists. I shall continue to notify subscribers of the launch of prints in advance. I may make a few more posts about aspects of my art but I promise to be sparing and informative on that front. I shan’t tax too badly the patience of those of you who subscribe to hear about aesthetics, overlooked artists and exhibitions.
Overall, you won’t see a great difference in the coming year, other than more content and perhaps a tighter focus. Feel free to add in the comments suggestions and responses. Reading and replying to comments this year has been enjoyable and informative and helped shape my ideas for 2024.
Happy New Year!
Thanks Alexander! And a very happy and healthy 2024 to you and yours. Greatly looking forward to your content.
I’m looking forward to what write about next year, it sounds interesting and informative. Happy New Year!
